A Christmas Present List and Lottie Dolls Giveaway

So, before I start, this is by no means a bragging post. I am acutely aware of the fact that so many children out there who will not be visited at all by Santa this year. My heart breaks for all the Syrian children and the sustained attacks they have had to endure in the past months. This is just a post to inspire other parents who are lucky enough to be healthy and well, living in a country where peace reigns, who can work to make their little ones’ dreams come true. What has my seven year old girl been dreaming to find under the Christmas tree this year? At the top of her list, we have had My Little Pony dolls and sets. I have been scouring the shops since November and managed to get her half price items and two for one sets so the house will be filled with glitter and pink ponies on Christmas morning :-). I love it that she is still into dolls at 7. To me, that …

The Christmasaurus Book Giveaway

Oh, my goodness, one month to Christmas Eve, folks and this morning my living room has Christmas carols in the background and smells of orange and cloves, as Emma decorated one yesterday at her lovely friend’s house. So I thought I’d run a little giveaway of one of the best sellers of this year in children’s fiction, The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher. Just to get us all warmed us and jolly for the month of December, that is! We are actually still eagerly waiting on our copy, which I assume will become THE bedtime book of the month in December in our household. So I thought I’d let the author himself introduce you to it and tell you a bit more about his latest work: Tom Fletcher does not need any introduction himself. As the author of The Dinosaur Who Pooped series, he has been making our little ones giggle so now, we can hardly wait to see how he has done as a bigger kids’ author (brilliantly, I am pretty sure!).  Puffin, which has …

Christmas Gift Guide: A Swimmer’s Dream

As promised, my Christmas gift guide this year is going to be highly unconventional, especially when it comes to gifts for children. I support learning through play as an educator and Emma does get toys at Christmas but I do think that our children need to develop other skills in parallel: confidence is definitely one of them! Emma was send this month not one but two brilliant swimming aids: an Aqua Sphere pair of goggles and a SwimFit, the brilliant floating device everyone is talking about! We did put them to test at the pool and we are writing this review to tell you why they would make brilliant Christmas gifts! The Aqua Sphere goggles were brought to my attention in a local children’s magazine. I did approach the PR in charge with the promotion campaign within the UK and they happily agreed to send Emma a Vista Junior Clear Lens pair. What makes Aqua Sphere different from other goggles, you ask? Like all Aqua Sphere’s goggles, the Vista Junior has curved lenses for 180 …

Professor Scrubbigton’s Fab Giveaway!

Once in a while, I get to work with a brand I really love, not only for their products but also for their ethic! Professor Scrubbington ticks, hands down, all the boxes for me as a brand. Their luscious products are designed with the children who use them in mind (and make them smell divine, too!). Their professionalism is exemplary. Their prices are more than reasonable. And their branding is so much fun, it makes children want to scrub up, for real! But on top of everything, they do things that make my heart beat. They are mindful not only of the environment and their little customers’ skin. They have also been aware of the humanitarian crisis taking place in Europe this year and  they have been donating discreetly yet generously, “to preserve the dignity of the young people of Syria”, as they put it so beautifully on their Instagram page. So, what are Professor Scrubbington’s magical concoctions? The full emporium kit is comprised of five items (each priced at £5), which can also be …
