I came across this in one of Victoria’s, from “Verily, Victoria Vocalises”, tweets and decided to join in the fun 🙂
I am also joining it in with #Magic Moments, at The Oliver’s Madhouse, because for me, Christmas and the weeks leading up to it have always been full of magic.
1. Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic?
I love real Christmas trees as they remind me of Christmases past. Of my dad dragging in a shabby but really fragrant Christmas tree many times as late as Christmas Eve. Of decorating it with my brother to our hearts’ delight. Of tree needles you would have found in the carpet during the spring deep cleaning…But this year I am too pregnant to care and my little one too young to have preferences so we decided to put up only the fiber optic one. It looks well though, if I say so myself…
2. You’re in a coffee shop, it’s December, what do you pick?
Oh, it must be a gingerbread man, a mince pie and a Christmas- flavoured drink, something that has cinnamon in it!
3. Whats your favourite colour scheme for decorating the tree?
We normally go for the red and green, the season’s colour scheme but I love golden too.
4. Giving or receiving?
Love giving, especially since I have had Emma. I actually start buying from November and usually end up with too many presents for her, to the dismay of hubby. This year I decided to pass the surplus on the friends’ children, so they will still be a blessing, my extra gifts!
5. To mince pie or not to?
I do love a good mince pie, especially if served with brandy cream 🙂
6. What’s your traditional Christmas lunch?
The really traditional turkey and trimmings, since I have moved to the UK. When I lived in Romania, it used to be stuffed vine leaves, pork sausages and steak, loads and loads of homemade starters, like Russian salad, deviled eggs and turkey meatballs in mayo(!!) and LOADS of booze!
7. Christmas day fashion
Whatever I feel like wearing that morning. I never do Christmas jumpers, though 🙂
8. What’s your favourite Christmas song?
9. What’s your favourite Christmas film?
The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Jude Law. Hilarious yet romantic!
10. Open presents before or after lunch?
With a little child in the house, it’s definitely as soon as we get up on Christmas morning! I love it though as she gets to wear a new outfit and shoes for church, which makes the day feel even more special!
Do join in the Christmas tag for a bit of fun! Would love to read your posts for a wee nosey about how other people do Christmas :-)!
I love this – I’ve seen others do it too and I must do one myself! I am all for The Holiday – I usually choose between this and Love Actually. Found it fascinating about your Romanian Christmas Day lunch – didn’t realise it was different! Thanks for linking to PoCoLo, hope to see you again x
I will definitely return, Victoria, I wasn’t aware PoCoLo existed before last week!
A great read! I had my first mince pie of the season yesterday – definitely getting festive now!
Lovely to read your Christmas choices #MagicMoments
I love real Christmas trees too, but totally understandable that you can’t do it this year 🙂 #MagicMoments.
Yeah, I will have to make up for it next year :-). thanks for stopping by!
Love ‘The Holiday’ here too and you can’t beat mince pies with brandy cream!
Oh, yum, I know, I have to renew my brandy cream supply :-). Thank you for stopping by!
That’s made me feel all festive! #MagicMoments
Oh, glad my post brought a bit of cheer!xx

Thank you, Jaime!xx
Love this, always fun to read about someone’s favourite things! If I want a mince pie, I’m going to have to make them myself… 🙂
Oh, very good, Sara, I never made them myself :-).xx
