Anassa Boutique – Navy Kimono Dress Review

I can hardly contain my excitement as I am about to write my very first fashion review on the blog! And of a Greek boutique based in the suburbs of Athens, of all places! Ioanna, from Anassa Boutique, was very sweet and prompt in sending me a dress of my choice from their website. I went for their Kimono denim dress, as I found it chic enough to be worn as a evening dress but comfortable enough to function as a day dress as well, with the right accessories. Here is my take on it, as a beautiful day dress: The back has a spectacular V-neckline at the back, which is guaranteed to turn a lot of heads if worn with a pair of smoking hot high heels for a night out. For obvious reasons, I couldn’t take a picture of it as me as a model but keep an eye on our Instagram page, I may ask hubby to act as my photographer on our next outing and snap me in it. The dress …

Word for the New Year: HOPE

I wrote a similar post last year. I don’t remember the word I chose for this year but in retrospect, it should have been sorrow. We had the most difficult year of our lives. Losing homes? Going bankrupt? Moving countries or counties? Falling off with family or friends? Nothing, nothing, nothing compares with the pain of losing a child. It is gut-wretching. It is soul destroying. It is heart numbing. It is not natural. How can it be? A new baby equals new beginnings. Life at its best. How can our minds reconcile the idea of a new baby with cancer? Old people die of cancer. People who abuse substances die of cancer. People who don’t watch their diets and who eat crap die of cancer. Not five month old babies. Not sweet, innocent beings whose sole desire is to be with their mamas. Whose souls radiate joy and peace and everything that is good and perfect about life. Only, it has happened. To us. Normal and the most ordinary of families. The sorrow we …

On the sixth day of Christmas…

“On the sixth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: Six Geese a Laying Five Golden Rings Four Calling Birds Three French Hens Two Turtle Doves and a Partridge in a Pear Tree.” We were privileged to be asked to review not one, not two but actually four companies that create photographic mementos and memories this December! I will try and do them all justice here and mention the unique way they have each blessed us as a family this Christmas. I love Instagram and I use it constantly for my blog’s page so when Square Snaps approaches me and asked us to review their greeting cards, I could have jumped for joy! I take pictures via Instagram several times a day and these pictures are dear to my heart as they are sweet snippets of what our daily routine and life at the moment look like. Pictures that translate memories that could be easily forgotten since Instagram is such a fast moving photographic tool. If you are a passionate Instagram user like …

On the fifth day of Christmas…

“On the fifth day of Christmas My true love sent to me Five golden rings Four calling birds Three french hens Two turtle doves and A partridge in a pear tree.” Ever since I got married and more so since I had Emma, I had wanted a nativity scene. There is something about the visual and the palpable that makes Christmas more real for everyone, especially when you have little ones in the house. So I was delighted when we were invited to review for the Christmas Boutique and not only that, I was allowed to choose a product of my choice. As you can imagine, it didn’t take me long to decide on the product, it took me a bit longer to decide on the colour for our nativity set, as they come not only in burgundy but also in pink, green and black and gold. As soon as I put it out, it got loads of attention and questions from Emma. She wanted to pet baby Jesus, to play with the wise men …

Frozen Crazy (Fun)

Emma, like any other 5 year old girl out there, loves Frozen. She knows the songs (and begs me NOT to sing when I try to, as I “embarrass her”, haha), she has the movie, both Anna and Elsa’s dresses, a number of outfits sporting the princess sisters, Frozen bedding, blankie and cushion. Santa will be bringing her an Elsa doll to keep Anna doll (the one she got for her birthday) company. So when we were asked to review and get creative with a beautiful Anna and Elsa art set, guess what our response was?  Oh, yeah, you guessed it! Cause a girl can never have too many Anna and Elsa items, this we can agree on! Emma got busy right away with it, as soon as it arrived, and it was declared her favourite and best art set ever :-). We printed some Frozen colouring in pages to start with: Emma loves drawing and recently, following her teacher’s prompting, she has started talking about “using her imagination” to create things. So, I wasn’t surprised …
