I came across this in one of Victoria’s, from “Verily, Victoria Vocalises”, tweets and decided to join in the fun 🙂 I am also joining it in with #Magic Moments, at The Oliver’s Madhouse, because for me, Christmas and the weeks leading up to it have always been full of magic. 1.  Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or synthetic? I love real Christmas trees as they remind me of Christmases past. Of my dad dragging in a shabby but really fragrant Christmas tree many times as late as Christmas Eve. What makes you happy?

The other day I got a message from a friend who had just discovered my blog and who asked me exactly this question: “How do you manage to be so happy?” I attempted an answer but then I thought that this would make a good blog post entry as I can expand on it… I suppose happiness is something you choose to feel, to a certain degree. I do realise but there are circumstances that are out of our control (I take the extreme case of domestic abuse, for example) from which I would advise anyone to remove themselves, first for their own safety and then for their sanity and happiness. But under “normal” circumstances, whether you are a stay-at-home mum, a successful in everybody else’s eyes businesswoman or a jobless student, one can be happy, I believe. It has everything to do, for me, with setting goals and achieving your dreams, whatever those dreams are: building a business, getting a job, having a clean home and tidy children? I was tagged by My Mills Baby with the lovely idea of a “life before the children” meme. I will try and answer the questions proposed as accurately as I can 🙂 1. What was your favourite holiday destination and why? We went on two cruises before we had Emma. Actually, I was three months pregnant on the second so technically, one and a half cruises :-). I really enjoyed our first cruise. The intimacy of the small cabin, the playfulness and naughtiness induced by the late-night free drinks. The sense of adventure given by the arrival in a new port/country every morning. The carefree feeling of pampered, laid back holidays with your loved one. The late breakfasts, sumptuous dinners and walks in sun-bathed locations. The relaxation! 2. What is your funniest memory pre-children? What Oana forgot

Otilia, from Romanian Mum inspired by MrsB, from Mind over Matter wrote a lovely post the other day that got me thinking. The whole idea came from the book MrsB is reading at the moment, “What Alice Forgot” and the amnesia that the heroine goes through following a fall, causing her to forget the last 10 years of her life. That caused a blog roll, in the true sense, and here I am, considering myself my life and the many changes I have been through in the last 10 years! If I was Alice and woke up tomorrow morning thinking it was the 20th of November 2003, I would be: Totally bewildered that I no longer live in Romania, in the same apartment I used to live with my parents and younger brother.
